G A L A

GALA opened in August 2016 with grades 6 and 9, and grew 2 grades per year until we were full-span in 2020 with grades 6-12. We are an LAUSD school and welcome girls who are committed to a highly rigorous, college preparatory curriculum focused on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). In 2026, GALA became an LAUSD School for Advanced Studies school. GALA Is also a California Distinguished school and niche.com ranks GALA as the #1 public middle school in California and the #2 public high school in California. Learn more HERE. 

L O C A T I O N

From 2016-2024, GALA was co-located at Los Angeles High School. In August 2024, GALA moved to its own campus! Our new location is nestled next to the historic and beautiful neighborhood adjacent to Mount Saint Mary's University (Doheny Campus) on St. James Place in 90007.

GALA faculty are some of the best teachers in Los Angeles who are committed to providing the highest academic preparation, utilizing an individualized whole-child approach to bring out the strengths in all of our young women. A C A D E M I C S

GALA's academic rigor includes a rich college preparatory humanities education with an emphasis on science, math, and technology. Girls at GALA are expected to challenge themselves and their peers to reach the highest level of intellectual preparation, and at the completion of their studies be accepted to a four-year University of their choosing. C O U N S E L I N G

GALA has a dedicated counseling team, including a full-time college counselor. Included in this team are teacher advisors who, over the seven years prepare all of our young women to develop the skills, application support, and financial aid opportunities to achieve in college and university.
